Everything you wanted to know about our Turmeric Skin Care Range

Will my skin stain?

Normal turmeric from your pantry (Curcuma Longa) will stain your skin. However, Wild Turmeric (Curcuma Aromatica, or Kasturi Manjal) – used in our facial masks will not stain your skin. It is inedible, cosmetic grade turmeric that is undyed, unlike its food grade counterpart. Our masks will never permanently stain your skin. It will leave colour on your towels and clothes. Cleanse your face thoroughly and rinse well before drying. We recommend you always use a dark towel. Be careful to rinse your white bathroom sink area straight away. For any residue, you can mix baking soda and vinegar to remove the last bit of yellow that may be left.

What if I still have some yellow left on my skin after rinsing off?

Apply some coconut oil (or olive oil if you have acne prone skin) with a cotton ball and a mild facial cleanser to wash the oiliness off. The best time to apply this mask is at night so that the residue is gone by the morning.

TIP: Coconut oil overnight on your skin after masking leaves your skin beautifully hydrated and nourished.

What about your nails and fingertips and that fresh new manicure?

You can use an applicator brush to apply the mask to spare your nails from staining. Anything that does escape onto nails and hands can be washed with a gentle soap and water.

Will the beauty oil or turmeric oil stain my skin?

No, because the oil is formulated with just the right amount so that there is no residual colour left on skin. If you wish, you can place a towel on your pillow overnight, so that there is no oiliness and also gives you confidence that no oil or colours will rub onto your bedding.

Can I use this mask if I have food allergies?

We highly recommend that you read our ingredients list first. Most of our ingredients are food based.  If you think that you may have a food based allergy to any of our products, then we recommend that you do a skin patch test 24 hours before use. If in doubt, then please always consult your doctor.
